With only one void left, we are entering the new year with exceptional occupancy, strong footfall and a renewed sense of energy across the estate
M Core, has announced a major milestone in the transformation of Princes Square, Glasgow, with the scheme moving from 17 voids at acquisition in 2024 to just one remaining unit today. The rapid progress reflects a wider repositioning strategy focused on attracting design-led, values-driven brands and restoring the centre’s status as a distinctive retail and dining destination in the heart of the city.
Since taking ownership last year, M Core has introduced a refreshed leasing strategy centred on premium fashion, contemporary dining, independent operators and all-day experiences. This shift has resonated strongly with the market, delivering a series of high-profile lettings and significant tenant investment throughout the year.
The most recent opening is Anthropologie, which has launched a 4,465 sq ft store, bringing another major international name to the scheme.
Princes Square also welcomed Cuvée, which has opened its fourth venue in Units 6–9.
Courtney Flynn, Head of Sales, PR and Communications, said:
“Opening our fourth venue in Princes Square marks an exciting moment for us as we focus on re-creating the square as a true day and night-time destination the perfect place to shop, sip and socialise in Glasgow. We’ve loved working with the Princes Square team and can’t wait for what’s ahead, especially our upcoming fashion show on Friday 21st November, celebrating the retailers and hospitality community here. Princes Square is the ideal home for our second Cuvée Champagne Bar, and we’re already looking forward to the Christmas lights going up and welcoming guests for a little ‘bubbles under the baubles’ magic.”
Earlier this summer, The Delphine opened in Units 1–2, taking 3,051 sq ft on a 21-year lease and strengthening the Square’s growing dining community. This was followed by the launch of Café 1780 in Unit C, a relaxed all-day dining concept backed by a family-run hospitality group known for its award-winning butcher heritage. The operator has taken a 15-year lease, reinforcing the strength of the centre’s evolving food and beverage offer.
The latest signing is Omnes, the ethical fashion brand, which has taken Unit 54 on a 4,622 sq ft letting. Known for its commitment to responsible retail and sustainable fashion, Omnes brings further depth and differentiation to Princes Square’s refreshed retail mix.
Alex Williams, Head of Scotland, LCP UK part of M Core, said:
“Princes Square continues to attract ambitious, design-conscious and values-led brands, and the arrival of retailers such as Omnes reinforces that momentum. Ethical fashion aligns perfectly with the direction in which the scheme is evolving. With only one void left, we are entering the new year with exceptional occupancy, strong footfall and a renewed sense of energy across the estate.”
Rakesh Joshi, Director at LCP UK part of M Core, added:
“When we acquired Princes Square last year, we saw the untapped potential of a unique, design-led destination in the heart of Glasgow. To move from 17 voids to a single remaining unit in such a short time reflects the strength of the market’s response and the hard work of everyone involved. Our focus has always been on curating a compelling mix of brands that elevates the visitor experience, and this latest wave of lettings demonstrates real confidence in the future of the scheme.”
The growing momentum was also reflected in the success of the centre’s Christmas light switch-on event on Saturday 16 November, where thousands of visitors gathered to watch Santa and Mrs Claus illuminate the festive decorations. The celebrations brought families, shoppers and diners together and signalled the unofficial start of the Christmas season at Princes Square, supporting increased footfall and reinforcing the centre’s civic and cultural role in Glasgow.
